Hyslom "Construction site Satellite"

From the end of 2020 to early 2023 when the museum was closed for renovation, an artist's group hyslom was invited to conduct their project "Construction site Satellite." The project featured various ways of dialogue and action between artists and the construction sites, and its process were made open to the public through exhibitions and online archives.

Artist Profile

Hyslom

Kato Itaru, Hoshino Fuminori, and Yoshida Yuu started to work together as the art collective hyslom in 2009. Rooted in their sense of disharmony and chance encounters with people and things encountered through exploring reclaimed land, they have developed a ludic art practice called “field play” in order to understand a place experientially using their bodies. This work is expressed through video, photography, and performance, and the collective has also evolved this memory into sculpture, theater, and film.

Weekly Phrase

Weekly Phrase introduced words and texts that hyslom developed or encountered during the project and was displayed on the notice board near the museum. People passing by enjoyed the taste of phrases that appear sometimes insightful and other times just a meaningless murmur.
