Hiroshima MOCA opened in 1989 as the first public museum specialized in contemporary art. The museum collects artworks from Japan and overseas, with a focus on works that are related to Hiroshima, and exhibits them in various frameworks. The museum is located in Hijiyama Park where the visitors can enjoy seasonal sceneries on the way to the museum.
