YAMAMURA Koji Animation + Screening: Koji Yamamura Film Works
In conjunction with the Hiroshima Animation Season 2024 (August 14-18), we will screen the animation works of Yamamura Koji, who serves as artistic director of the festival, and introduce clay sculptures for clay animation created by Yamamura, as well as picture books by Yamamura and other artists. Please enjoy the world of animation and picture books that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Yamamura Koji
Born in Nagoya, Aichi, 1964. Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 1987; produced animations for children such as Pacusi and Babel’s book in the 1990s. His Mt. Head (2002) was nominated for the 75th Academy Awards, won 6 Grand Prix including Annecy and Zagreb, and was selected as one of the "100 Films of the Century". One of the characteristics of Yamamura's creations is that he creates the original drawings and forms frame by frame with his own hands. Through the accumulation of his vast creative output, he is constantly pursuing new forms of expression.
