Inmocaken “About Bodies” program, we will hold a study session with Ikeda Satoshi, a researcher in inclusive art education, as lecturer. We will learn about examples of accessibility initiatives in museums in Japan and abroad. Building on the accessibility practices implemented in the ongoing exhibition Touch, Untangle, Tones!, this program also provides an opportunity to reflect on future possibilities for the museum.

Lecturer's Profile

Ikeda Satoshi
Professor at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Hiroshima University. Holds a PhD in Education. Board member and vice representative of the Society for Art Education, as well as chair of its Research Division on Inclusive Art Education. His main research field is the intersection of art and disability. Since 2021, he has been conducting the “Integrated Research and Policy Project on Art and Coexistence” in collaboration with Hiroshima Prefecture, the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum, and the Hiroshima Art Support Center. He has planned and carried out projects such as the production of museum guidance videos featuring people with disabilities, outreach activities to welfare facilities, and online interactive art appreciation programs.
