We will be introducing the works of artist Makie Asano (Hello! Ai no Niwa), creator of the Neo-Dogū pieces available at the museum shop “339,” at the 339 counter.
We will be hosting a POP-UP exhibition of “Praylings,” a series that Makiko Asano began creating in 2025, along with a related workshop.

“Praylings” are ceramic prayer dolls created by Makiko Asano. The name is a coined word combining “praying” and the suffix “-ling,” which conveys something small and cute. Starting with the 11 pieces unveiled at her solo exhibition “Folklore” held in November 2025, the exhibition will also feature new works. During the exhibition period, we will also be holding a workshop to create amulets inspired by the form of “Praylings.”

Asano Makiko / Hello! Ai no Niwa
A ceramic artist born and based in Hiroshima. She began working with ceramics in 2024, and in 2025 launched the “Praylings” series, centered on the theme of prayer.
The Praylings series was first presented at her solo exhibition “Folklore,” held from November 8 (Sat) to 16 (Sun), 2025, at Gallery Kioku no Korabako (Nagatsuka, Asaminami Ward). In addition to exhibitions, she also hosts workshops such as open-fire clay firing inspired by Dogū figures, and continues her daily practice with the aim of spreading gentle ripples of kindness.
