Reference

Inmocaken “About Bodies” program. Each of us has a different body, and we experience and feel different things depending on our age, physical characteristics, and culture. Learning about these differences not only helps us understand the barriers between people and museums and learn how to enjoy museums together, but it may also help us imagine others and perceive the world from a different perspective.

Zhdanova Alina, who creates video works on the theme of forgetting and reconstructing, has invented an imaginary language called “Lushe” and incorporates it into her work.
In this workshop, with Zhdanova as the facilitator, each participant will take on the challenge of creating their own imaginary language. The starting points will be “sounds” before they become words, “fragments of memory,” and “traces of emotion.”
Rather than focusing on conveying meaning, participants will weave together “thoughts not yet in words” and “feelings that cannot be fully expressed,” guided by sound, texture, and the presence of memory. At the end, everyone will attempt a conversation using the languages they have created.

*If you require sign language interpretation or any other arrangements to participate, please contact us in advance.
*Conducted in Japanese.
