Work Description

"Vegetable Weapon" is a series of portraits of women holding guns made of food, which Ozawa has traveled to various countries and regions to produce since 2001. The models choose a dish that is a regional specialty, and an ingredient of this dish is used to fashion the weapon. For this work, the three nabe (hot pot) dishes listed in the title were chosen to represent Hiroshima. Following the common practice of this project, after the photo shoot the meals were actually prepared and shared with participants and collaborators. The work represents a humorous process of disarmament carried out while communicating with others.
